threads of connection: co-creating circular fashion

What do fashion, sustainability, and human connection have in common?

They all come together in this afternoon event organised by okret in the Circular Pavillon of MUCE.
Let your voice be heard during the Threads of Connection: Co-creating Circular Fashion! As resources become increasingly scarce, there’s only one way to bring about change. The love for the clothes we wear and the connection we share with each other lay the foundation for positive change within the fashion industry.

When and where?
  • 14 sept 2024 / 14:00-16:00 / Operaplein, Antwerpen
  • 10 okt 2024 / 17:00-19:00 / Molenpoort, Hasselt

Let’s talk to the industry.
What, why, how circular fashion?

We will start with an inspiring conversation with local innovative entrepreneurs and established companies that embrace circular fashion. They will share how they are helping to transform the clothing world, focusing on value, care, and connection to extend the lifespan of garments.

Let’s talk to each other.
Bring your favourite piece of clothing!

After the panel with the industry professionals, we will break into small, cozy groups for an interactive session. Bring an item of clothing that truly represents you and use it as an icebreaker to share your story with others. What can your clothes tell about you, and what can you learn about others?

Can love set fundamentals for circular fashion?

By pausing and truly connecting with others, we better understand how clothing connects us, not only with ourselves but also with our memories. This emotional bond lays the foundation for a circular economy where clothing regains the value it deserves — seen again as a ‘slow-moving consumer good’ — something we cherish and appreciate, rather than quickly discard.

You have items that need some love?
Drop-off your repairs!

The event also serves as a drop-off point for repair and upcycling. Bring your favorite items that have been sitting in the closet because they need a little extra care! If you agree with our repair price, local artisans will make sure you’ll love wearing your garment again — you choose between pick-up or home delivery. Who says circular fashion is difficult?
